James’s Role

James works directly with clients to gather all the financial information needed for their R&D claims, then processes and analyses this data. He guides and supports clients through every stage of the claims process, helping them establish their R&D spend for the financial year ahead of submission to HMRC. Alongside this, he liaises closely with clients’ accountants, who provide essential information and support along the way.

Before Amplifi

James spent nearly four years at PwC in the audit team, where he gained strong experience in audit and controls across IT and business risk, third-party assurance and cyber risk, working with clients across finance, insurance, government and manufacturing. He also holds a Business Studies degree from Ulster University.

Outside Amplifi

James is a big football fan with a Linfield FC season ticket and Northern Ireland campaign card, so he can get to as many games as he can. He has also recently taken up padel and is trying to increase his Playtomic score (but is failing).
